The Energy Ghana Magazine (EGM), a product of the Energy Media Group (EMG) has in its July 2020 Special Edition, named the Executive Director of the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), Benjamin Boakye, as one of the Top 5 Young Male Influencers in Ghana’s energy industry.
This recognition, according to EGM, is in line with Mr. Boakye’s inspiring leadership in the sector in the last decade, which has contributed to making his organization, ACEP, one of the leading energy and extractive resource think tanks in Africa and in the world.
Under Benjamin Boakye’s sterling leadership, ACEP has and continues to safeguard the energy and extractives space in Africa, with a strong focus on institutional development and corporate transparency, contract and resource governance, efficient revenue management, policy analysis and advocacy, evidence-based research, climate change adaptation and energy transition, as well as ensuring that Africa’s resource wealth is equitably and Inclusively used for the benefit of all citizens to enhance sustainable development.
Mr Boakye has extensive experience in the power sector and currently chairs the Stakeholder Committee of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), which advises the MiDA Board on the implementation of Power sector reforms in Ghana.
Other Young Male Influencers on the list include the CEO of the Springfield E&P Group, Kevin Okyere; CEO of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors, Senyo Hosi; CEO of Petrosol, Michael Bozumbil; and the CEO of the National Petroleum Authority, Alhassan Tampuli.
The efforts of these influencers who are leading the charge for key organizations within the energy space have contributed to the improvements being experienced in Ghana’s energy sector.
