FEC confirmed what I’ve always known: African youth are ready to lead the energy transition. As a finalist of the Innovation Challenge at FEC 2024, I didn’t just share ideas; I saw how our innovations collectively rewrite Africa’s story. This is more than South African or Kenyan or Ghanaian tech, it’s our continent’s innovative capacity shaping the global energy future.
Africa’s lithium export bans signal a bold ambition: to transform resources rather than export them raw. We dissected opportunities and roadblocks in building realistic value chains at our FEC 2024 side event. Now, the challenge moves to policymakers and relevant stakeholders to turn these insights into actionable strategies that are ambitious yet achievable.
