Ghana's Resource Future

The Resource Governance Campus Hub is an initiative by the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) aimed at empowering tertiary students with the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to advocate for sustainable and inclusive utilization of Ghana’s natural resources. The Hub brings together students from diverse academic backgrounds who are passionate about energy, natural resources, governance, and development.

Membership is voluntary and open to students from diverse academic disciplines, particularly those with an interest in energy, natural resources, governance, and development.

  • Networking opportunities with industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers in the natural resource and energy sectors.
  • Opportunities to participate in national and international conferences and competitions.
  • Graduate alumni in good standing will be given preferential consideration for the Next Generation Resource Governance Leaders Program at ACEP.
  • Gain visibility through publishing findings and position papers in collaboration with ACEP on the ACEP website, monthly newsletter and/or national print media on resource governance challenges in Ghana.

Training on energy and resource governance, including legal, fiscal, and institutional frameworks, plus advocacy, public speaking, and leadership skills.

Campus sensitization on sustainable resource use and its role in development. Creation of digital content (blogs, videos, infographics) to share insights.

Conduct small-scale campus-level research projects on natural resource management challenges and opportunities in Ghana.

Community Engagement

Community Engagement

Partner with ACEP to educate youth in mining host communities about their rights and responsibilities in mining resource extraction and benefit sharing.

Competitions & Events

Competitions & Events

Host debates, essay contests, and hackathons on resource governance. Organize Resource Governance Week ahead of the National Conference to deepen student engagement.
