Training Workshop
Empowering Student Journalists in Investigative Journalism and Anti-Corruption Issues in Ghana
The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), in collaboration with the Student Representative Council (SRC) of UniMAC – Institute of Journalism (IJ), are excited to announce a specialized training workshop designed to equip student journalists of UniMAC-IJ with essential skills in investigative reporting and anti-corruption journalism. This workshop will provide participants with the knowledge, tools, and techniques needed to uncover corruption, demand transparency, and hold those in power accountable.
Why this Training Matters
Corruption remains a significant challenge in Ghana, affecting economic development, weakening democratic institutions, and eroding public trust. While institutions like the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) play vital roles in addressing corruption, investigative journalism is a key pillar in exposing wrongdoing and ensuring accountability.
This training will empower the next generation of journalists to become effective watchdogs of democracy by equipping them with the skills to conduct impactful investigations and report on corruption-related issues.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is exclusively for Level 300 and 400 student journalists of UniMAC-IJ who are passionate about investigative reporting and want to develop their skills in uncovering and reporting corruption-related issues.
