The year 2025 highlights a year of resilience, reflection, and renewed commitment to advancing accountable resource governance and sustainable energy development in Africa. Against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transition efforts, ACEP continued to provide evidence-based research and policy advocacy on critical issues shaping Africa’s development trajectory. Our work focused on strengthening public financial management in the extractive sector, advancing methane emissions accountability, assessing climate action and energy transition pathways, and addressing the persistent challenge of energy sector debt.
