2025 Summer School on the Governance of Extractive Industries in Anglophone Africa
The Anglophone Africa Extractive Industries Knowledge Hub (AFREIKH) bridges knowledge gaps in Africa’s energy and extractive sectors through capacity building and training initiatives to improve resource governance.
The 2025 session of the AFREIKH Summer School on the Governance of Extractive Industries in Anglophone Africa, organized by the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) with support from the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), will bring together stakeholders from across Anglophone Africa to explore critical issues, challenges, and the evolving landscape of Africa’s extractive industries, with a focus on the ongoing energy transition.
By the end of the Summer School, participants will:
Gain deeper insights into policy, governance, and sustainability issues in Africa’s energy and extractive sectors.
Be equipped with practical tools and frameworks for influencing reform in their respective fields.
Build valuable networks across sectors and regions for continued collaboration.
Contribute to the creation of a joint knowledge product: Rethinking Extractive Sector Governance.
Participants will also benefit from the Future of Energy Conference (FEC), a platform for exploring innovative solutions and strategies for a sustainable energy future for Africa.
Eligibility Open to professionals from CSOs, media, government, and academia with experience in extractive or energy governance and a strong interest in policy and governance issues.
