ACEP Radar: March 2025

Effective public finance management is central to Africa’s development ambitions. Whether through better budgeting, transparent resource governance, or stronger anti-corruption frameworks, how countries manage public resources profoundly shapes economic resilience and citizen wellbeing.

ACEP continues to champion reforms and engagements that promote transparency, equity, and accountability in public financial management across the continent.

In the March 2025 edition of ACEP Radar, we unpack key proposals in Ghana’s 2025 Budget Statement, particularly those related to the energy and extractives sectors, and reflect on missed opportunities for windfall taxation. We also highlight our public finance and anti-corruption engagements, capacity-building efforts, the launch of the Resource Governance Campus Hub at UENR, and the introduction of the 8th cohort of our NextGen Leaders Program.
