ACEP Grabs Two Awards At GEA 2019

The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) was last Friday crowned as the Energy Consultant Service institution of the year at the 3rd edition of the Ghana Energy Awards (GEA) 2019 in Accra.

The firm’s Executive Director, Benjamin Boakye, was also honoured with the Osagyefo Young Leadership Award, which seeks to celebrate young individuals whose extraordinary leadership achievements within a short period of time, has created greater impact in the lives of others.

Receiving the award, Mr Boakye expressed appreciation to the organizers and the panel for the honour done the Centre and stressed that the award will spur ACEP to do more to support Ghana and the African continent to empower people and alleviate the plight of many who live in various communities around us.

The award follows ACEP’s consistency in the provision of energy advisory services, policy analysis, and advocacy for efficient resource governance, which has helped to establish the Centre as one of the leading energy think tanks on the African continent.

Launched in 2017, the Ghana Energy Awards, which is organized annually by the Energy Media Group in partnership with CH Business Consulting Ghana, seeks to recognize the efforts of outstanding industry players in the Oil and Gas, as well as the power sector in the country.

This year’s edition was under the theme, “ENERGY, THE KEY TO A SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY FOR INDUSTRIALIZATION”, and featured Awards in 21 categories covering the petroleum, power and renewable energy sectors.

The Ghana Energy Awards is overseen by a five-member panel made up of experts drawn from diverse professions in the country, and comprises Dr. Lawrence Tetteh (renowned global evangelist), Prof. Felix Asante (former Director of ISSER, University of Ghana), Mr. Kwame Jantuah (lawyer & energy consultant), Dr. Kwame Ampofo (former Chairman of the Energy Commission), and Dr. Jemima Nunoo (Director, Centre for Management Development, GIMPA).
